Beyond Hypnobirthing

A home birth masterclass

Saturday 28th March - 10:30 - 11:30am

Why most hypnobirthing courses prepare you for hospital birth and what you really need to birth confidently at home...

If you're planning on, or musing a home birth, you're probably thinking about incorporating hypnobirthing into your birth prep, right? I mean everybody just assumes the two go perfectly hand in hand; you're wanting a calm, confident birth and to feel clued up and like you've got tools in your metaphorical home birth 'kit'.

Well, you might be surprised to hear that hypnobirthing isn't necessarily the best type of preparation for a home birth. Oh the HORROR...!

Don't get me wrong... I LOVE me a bit of hypnobirthing; in fact I'm the founder of one of the UKs most popular Online & in person Hypnobirthing Courses.

Hypnobirthing is where my passion for birth, autonomy and supporting women through this profound rite of passage begun over 8 years ago. It was going on a hypnobirthing course that completely changed my perspective of birth during my first pregnancy, whilst I prepared for a 'high risk' hospital birth.

But... having spent the better part of a decade supporting families through the highs and lows of preparing for, and having a home birth, there's something I just can't ignore any more...

Standard hypnobirthing courses are geared towards hospital births - even when they think they aren't!

And I know it's ironic because so many people think hypnobirthing is primarily for the home birth planning 'hippies' (right?!).

I say this as someone who dedicated years upon years to creating my very own hypnobirthing course, and at no point did I think I was gearing it towards hospital birth; but then I not only became a home birth doula, but I also planned (and had) a home birth myself.

And it became glaringly obvious what hypnobirthing is really doing, what's not needed for couple's birthing at home and also what is missing.

Had I not had that experience of going through the journey of deeply preparing for & birthing my daughter at home, had I not gone on to become a highly experienced home birth doula - I, too, would have continued to think all the breathing techniques, the visualisations, all of that fantastic preparation that hypnobirthing incorporates... but is largely unhelpful for home birth... was good enough.

In this FREE 1 hour Online class - I'll be walking you through the prep you really need to incorporating into your home birth plans, and help you get to a place where you're feeling so much clearer on your next steps in feeling not only 'clued up and confident', but deeply connected to your journey, and prepared for the realities of navigating home birth.

Meet your Host...

Hey, I’m Jess... an award-winning home birth doula and birth educator with almost a decade of experience supporting women through pregnancy, birth and early motherhood.

I do this work because I truly believe that pregnancy, birth and the early postpartum period are not simply experiences to get through; they are a profound rite of passage.

Birth sends ripples far beyond a single day, influencing mental and physical health, family dynamics and a baby’s earliest sense of safety in the world.

My own path into motherhood and experiences of birth; from a 'high risk' hospital birth with our first born, to the life changing journey towards the free birth of our second babe changed everything for me. It lit a fire in my heart to create spaces where women feel truly held, deeply informed and honoured as they birth their babies.

Over the years, I have supported more than 60 families as a doula, and 600 through my in person & online hypnobirthing courses.

When I’m not with my lovely clients... I’m usually at home at our Northumberland family farm with my husband (Farmer Richard!) and our two children, navigating farm life, motherhood and all the beautiful chaos in between.

Fuelled by good coffee, cosy country interiors and the company of incredible women (my 'mum friends' turned soul sisters)
