About your facilitator - Jessica Ord

Hello lovely! I'm Jessica, an award-winning doula, hypnobirthing specialist, and holistic birth educator based in Northumberland.

My passion lies in supporting women who wish to journey through pregnancy and birth feeling empowered, deeply held, and in tune with their intuition.

Through NE Bump Club, I offer you a gentle haven - a soft place to land, reflect, and flourish as you step into or deepen your motherhood journey.

Why join a pregnancy group led by a local Northumberland Doula?

Well, with 8 years experience as a holistic pregnancy & birth professional under my belt, you can rest assured, knowing that my groups and care are based on the reality of navigating the maternity system and my lived experiences in the birth room, rather than something I learned on a course or in a book

(although, of course, I have done LOTS of training over the years too!)

I'm currently writing my second book, 'Ancient Wisdom/ Modern Birth' - where I'm exploring the lost wisdom of childbirth and guiding my readers along a journey where perhaps they're able to use that knowledge in the present day landscape of birth.

I know what you really need to know, understand and have access to in order to have a beautiful experience of birth, no matter what your circumstances or wishes are.

The group course was amazing from start to finish.

Jessica was so warm and welcoming, she has the kindest soul and makes you feel at ease.
She was full of knowledge and helps you look at all angles of your options for birth.

I loved learning about about the rights we have as pregnant women; the course is something I won’t ever forget and has really helped me to prepare for birth. I no longer feel scared but instead I feel excited, positive and empowered.
Amazing, amazing, amazing!!

Beccy, Group Course

Loved the course! It really helped me to get into the right mindset before giving birth to my first baby.

I found my hospital birth to be a very positive experience and even though I didn’t plan a water birth my labour went so quickly that I ended up having an unmedicated water birth, in a beautiful room just as I dreamed of but before the classes didn’t think was possible.

Hanna, 1st time Mum

Jess was an absolutely crucial role in our pregnancy and birth.

Our home birth was 3 days long, in the end, and it was an emotional and physical marathon for me. And for her, too…a lot of hip pressing was involved!

But with Jess’ steadfast support and confidence, I never feared the outcome. I learned to trust in my decisions, in my body and was able to have the birth I’d always wanted.

Whenever I think back to the birth, I can see Jess there...gently encouraging and supporting us throughout, like some kind of birth angel!
